Merry Christmas

We share our love with symbols of God's angels

Christ brought a light to us much brighter than this!!!

Our decorations are a tribute to God for the birth of Jesus by a peasant woman called Mary. Just imagine what she must have gone thru when people discovered she was with child, and not married!!! FAITH was what Joseph had for he stood by her, and welcomed THE CHRIST CHILD into the world. Just think about this awesome gift God provided so we could be with HIM in the end...yes He gave us choice in this life....what have you chosen??? If you haven't accepted the free gift of life every lasting do it today....My prayer for everyone is that we remember what this season is truly about....The birth of our Mighty King, Jesus....Blessings to all, and a very Merry Christmas my dear friends~!
(((Hugs))) Bevie

Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas

Here about 24 inches.
We had about 20 inches here

This is the front deck with about 8 inches

I have to tell you what a sizable snow most of us on the East Coast got on Saturday!!! Would you believe 24 inches up here in the mountains of VA? Sure did!!! My hubby shoveled the decks every 2 hrs to keep ahead of all that snow...it was so beautiful much like a winter wonderland. Here are some photos I took as the day wore on...

GUIDANCE

I was reading and came across the work G U I D A N C E and it struck a cord with me! I thought gee if you separate the letters they tell a story.

The first letter, G for me stands for GOD U and I is for you and me. Then there is DANCE. If you think about it dancing with someone there's always someone who leads and someone who follows, right? So when U and I follow God's Word and believe in HIM we find ourselves in the most awesome relationship we could ever have. Becoming more like HIM is what we aim for isn't it???
I so love finding words that speak to my heart the way this one did...how awesome is that?

I wish for you a beautiful day one filled with God's word and His awesome grace...if there's a need for prayer please let me know and I'll post it here!!!

Let your life be centered in the Lord!

I find solace in God's word...this scripture brings such joy to my heart!!! Enjoy

life in Him, you can live life to the fullest.
John 15:1-17 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.Abide in Me, and I in you.As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered;and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing;but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My FatherI have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.

You say, HE says!!

YOU SAY... GOD SAYS BIBLE VERSESYou say:"It's impossible" God says:All things are possible(Luke 18:27)You say:"I'm too tired" God says:I will give you rest(Matthew 11:28-30)You say:"Nobody really loves me" God says:I love you(John 3:16 & John 3:34 )You say:"I can't go on" God says:My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)You say:"I can't figure things out" God says:I will direct your steps(Proverbs 3:5-6)You say:"I can't do it" God says:You can do all things(Philippians 4:13)You say:"I'm not able"; God says:I am able(II Corinthians 9:8)You say: "It's not worth it" God says:It will be worth it(Roman 8:28 )You say:"I can't forgive myself" God says:I Forgive you(I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)You say:"I can't manage" God says:I will supply all your needs(Philippians 4:19)You say:"I'm afraid" God says:I have not given you a spirit of fear(II Timothy 1:7)You say:"I'm always worried & frustrated" God says:Cast all your cares on ME(I Peter 5:7)You say:"I'm not smart enough" God says:I give you wisdom(I Corinthians 1:30)You say:"I feel all alone" God says:I will never leave you or forsake you(Hebrews 13:5)

Worry

I was sitting here thinking I'm almost out of birdfeed for the birds that have been used to feeding at all the feeders I have hanging from trees in my front yard. You know I used to worry about them not having that food when I run out, but I've finally realized that to be "concerned" is a call to ACTION, not a call to WORRY! Yep, you know before I say it, Christ says to put our FAITH in God so we do what we can knowing full well God will take care of the rest!!! I'm going to continue to share what HE gives to us with those in need because I know that HIS will will be done in the end. I love giving as I'm sure many of you do...I know my sister has a HEART for giving...she knows full well that God wants us to share with those in need...I like to concider it also a RAK...how awesome does giving make us feel? Wonderful. It's amazing how when things get really tight we can still find ways for giving. Sharing a stick of butter or perhaps a package of chicken that's in your freezer can make a dinner for a family with nothing to eat. I believe with all my heart this is one of the most important things we can do for one another!
As you all sit down at your Thanksgiving Dinner take time to remember all those who are struggling and may not have a turkey to eat...if you can...share with a neighbor!!! My dear sister Mary has shared with us this year...times are difficult for many, and I'm very thankful for God's grace and love and gifts of all kinds!
Blessings, and I wish each of you a very Blessed Thanksgiving and safe travel !

An update on Missy

I have been so touched by all your comments and prayers for Missy!!! As we all know Pray is a powerful thing given to us. The pneumonia Missy got just days after her procedure at UVA has taken it's toll....it's been 2 weeks of antibotics each one stronger than the last with nebulizer treatments as well. Today she goes back to Urgent Care, but she tells me she is feeling better..Praise the Lord for keeping her wrapped in HIS arms. So I'm here to thank each and everyone of you who have been so kind as to keep her close in prayer. (((hugs))) I"m so blessed to have such special friends...and to even have some come by that I don't even know...God Bless you all!!!

Some concerns

I have a prayer request for my youngest daughter, Melissa. Let me give you a little history (some already know about her) Missy was born with a very rare genetic muscle disease that they call, Multi-core myopathy since the team of drs who diagnosed her in 1977 didn't name it. Her actually condition is a loss of cross striations in the muscle fibrils. This means the heart as well as all other striated muscles...the early years were spent going back and forth to Children's in DC..spending weeks at a time when pneumonia hit. (that was once a month) in the beginning we realized she also had a condition where the jaw didn't grow, the mouth opening was very very small and her tongue was very thick making nursing impossible, and even taking a bottle too. I used an eyedropper for a time. Since there were only about 50 cases being following in the US that were similar there wasn't much known about it. It's been said to be under the umbrella of MDA...so they followed her for 18 long years. Ok that's about it...no prognosis has every been given because it's so rare. Missy is now 33 yrs old, had a procedure last week at UVA to find out if there was any growths down her throat causing the inability to swollow well. The results of the the scope were good however it didn't go so well with anestheisia. The two drs who took care of her decided not to use the gas they use to keep people under during a procedure, because Missy stands the chance of developing Mylignant Hyperthermia ( a fever so high it would bake the brain) They were very careful not to put her totally under to lessen the chance of her stopping to breath. Well she did so more invasive treatment was used...After it was over they advised us Missy needs to keep her medilert bracelet on and get a necklace as well. So you see if she were ever in an accident and an ENT needed to tube her they could actually kill her in the process...Ok enough of this...they reason I'm telling you all this is that several days after the visit to UVA Missy came down with Pneumonia...she's hasn't been hospitalized although they have do breathing treatments and she's on a good antibiotic, but we need prayer...Knowing full well there have been many miracles in our daughter's life we are praying for another...that she gets thru this illness and is able to get the 2 flu shots. For her with all her problems it would be very dangerous if she got that flu....so my friends please join me and my family in lifting Missy up to God in prayer...knowing full well that He's been with her all her life providing miracle after miracle to keep her alive, and for all that I give HIM all the praise and glory!!! thanks so much and if there's a need amongst you all please add it here so we can hold you up as well...we know there's perfect Power in Prayer!!!
Blessings.

How is your day going?

First photo is of a large wall I did for my grandson!

Second photo is Dewey &Me 1982

Third photo is of my mom holding Robin, from lt.Bill, Linda
then me, & my twin. Boy was that a long time ago...what fun..I found lots of all photos~~

This one is of me when I was 25 yrs old. I'm now 66 pushing 67...wow what a difference!

But it's ok...I've realized it's ok to grow older, in fact I'm happy I am where I am today. More wise, but am so much closer to my FATHER!! I would never want to go backwards because I'm comfortable in my own skin!

How about you? Do you find that you are much closer to God?? My journey over the years have been one of way too many wrong roads, but thankfully they've all ended me up where I am today. A happy wife, loving mother, and a blessed grandmother. But most of all I am on what I suspect is my most important journey of all...My personal walk and relationship with my Abba Father...As my sister, Mary would put it " the one who loves me best" My heart filled with such joy the first time I heard her say that! Isn't that a small sentence, but a very big TRUTH??? The ONE who loves you best!!! He made us for HIM...He came down after Adam and Eve listened to satan and disobeyed God, and actually died on the Cross to save us all from a certain life without HIM...meaning we would be lost forever...How little time we have on this earth...just like a pinch of salt compared to eternity...wow just think about that...If you have never accepted God's wonderful free gift, please do so now!!! I know God wants us all to care about those who have not been saved and born again...and those of you who have know my heart!!!! I am so blessed that I've met so many wonderful people here and know that God puts us together to help each other on our journey!!! Have a blessed day Loving the ONE who loves you best!!!!

Something new

A 16x20 canvas completed last week...I've been so involved with creating little ATCs and 4x4 chunky book pages lately that I'd gotten away from what I love to create. That would be canvases from my heart...honoring God! I think we can honor God with all different mediums of art can't we?? As I work on a piece of art I'm thinking about our Lord and what HE means to me...this is the truth...He's on my mind and in my heart constantly. My hope is that a painting done with this awesome gift from God will be used to touch other's hearts as I create them for that very purpose. Some have the gift of writing as my dear sister, Mary does...course her art reflects her love for the Lord as well....I'm not a writer even tho I'd love to be it's just not there....sooooo to all who feel something when looking at my art...please know that God loves you...for he made you just for himself. He came down as his son to die on the cross at Calvary for all our sins. Just think about that...I know that most of you who stop by already know our Lord as your saviour...but if there's just one who doesn't know HIM then that is my purpose here...Blessings to all!!!

I'm free

I'm not going into all that has caused a real deep anger and hurt in my heart for more years than I care to count! This goes back to the time when our mom left us the day of my 17th birthday....this affected all of us kids, and I've shared bits of this before...I denied for years that I had a problem refusing to listen to what the dreams were tell me. Oh yes, I dreamed way too often about that time so long ago. When mom came to live with my hubby and me I told myself it would be fine, but in time I realized I resented her way more than I thought. Then I didn't see her for a time because she moved to Florida to live with one of my sisters. She's lived with several of us from the time her husband passed. Now at 91 I've finally decided I had a choice either I would hold on to this anger and feeling of dread when she asked to come visit..(I was making up excuses why she shouldn't come) After much praying and talks with God I knew this was only putting a veil between God and me. I was holding on to those feelings instead of forgiving and moving on. Well I have put it to rest!!! I had move here the week before and it was wonderful to share REAL feelings of love for her...it's amazing how by listening to God who kept telling me, If I can forgive you of all your transgressions how can you hold on to something that is only hurting yourself? Yep, and it feels so good. I hope if you have anger or hurt in your hearts from someone who has done things to you in the past...it's for your own good to come to terms with it and let it go....I pray for each of you cuz I want you to feel the freedom that comes with forgiveness!!!
In Christian love!! (((Hugs)))

I feel renewed so I want to share with you a praise! I woke yesterday morning thinking, this is the day I start going to a new Church!!! I was excited and knew God was in control bringing me to the realization that we all need to be in a good Bible Believing Church where we can not only share and help each other, but to become closer to God's Word. It was wonderful, everyone was so happy to see me there, I was able to get up for every song (bad knees) and I have to tell ya I praised HIM all the way home with a song in my heart!!! The Holy Spirit has been putting a burdon on my heart that I needed to be there. So today I'm praising HIM for not letting me go till I heard HIM!!

I hope each of you have a place of worship where you are being feed, I know I read my Bible at home, but it's not the same...and because I have medical issues I'd just allowed myself to believe it was ok to stay at home. No, the way I felt when I left that Church brought back all the wonderful feelings I had when attending my home Church where we used to live. It was satan telling me it was ok... I say get away from me satan...you can not influence me anymore for I am a Child of God who sent HIS son to die on the Cross at Calvary for my sins. HE is in control of my life...Now I have loved the Lord for most of my life, and have been baptised in HIS blood, but we tend to get too familiar with *earthly things* and stray...we have to keep our hearts and ears open to what HE wants for us...not what we want for us...thank you for sharing this awesome day with me...I praise Him for all that He does in my life and all that He will!!!
Blessings,

How wonderful to see God's creations!!

Again God showers me with HIS beauty! From the very beginning God created not only the heavens and the earth, but all living things such as the birds and fowl, and all that roam the earth! Just think about how awesome the beginning was.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 2:21

My favorite times are when my hubby and I take our little rides back in the woods where we find not only old old houses some vacated, but still standing tall, but all the wildlife going about their business. I long for the day when I'm with our Father sharing with all HIM and all his creations!

Have a blessed day and remember God loves you and so do I....

Some flowers in my garden

There are still some perennial plants getting ready to bloom, but I thought I'd share just a few. It's wonderful to drive up to the house and see so much color around the house, then all the tall trees with beautiful green leaves spreading over them like a blanket up high. They are just enough apart to allow sun thru most of the time!!!
My veggies aren't doing as well, we got only 2 yellow squash off 6 plants, but as soon as the blooms open the are gone the next day...I think either the little chipmunks are feasting on them or the birds...At least there are many stands all around town with plenty to buy...it's so nice to grow your own, but at least we are helping other families when we purchase their crops.
I wanted to wish everyone a very safe and Happy 4th...if you are traveling I pray for safe travel.
Blessings,
Bevie

A Holy Longing
06/17/2009
http://www.theransomedheart.com/

The whole life of the good Christian,” said Augustine, “is a holy longing.” Sadly, many of us have been led to feel that somehow we ought to want less, not more. We have this sense that we should atone for our longings, apologize that we feel such deep desire. Shouldn’t we be more content? Perhaps, but contentment is never wanting less; that’s the easy way out. Anybody can look holy if she’s killed her heart; the real test is to have your heart burning within you and have the patience to enjoy what there is now to enjoy, while waiting with eager anticipation for the feast to come. In Paul’s words, we “groan inwardly as we wait eagerly” (Rom. 8:23). Contentment can only happen as we increase desire, let it run itself out toward its fulfillment, and carry us along with it.

And so George Herbert prayed,

Immortal Heat, O let thy greater flame
Attract the lesser to it: let those fires,
Which shall consume the world, first make it tame;
And kindle in our hearts such true desires,
As may consume our lusts, and make thee way.
Then shall our hearts pant thee. (Love)

There may be times when all we have to go on is a sense of duty. But in the end, if that is all we have, we will never make it. Our Hero is the example. He’s run on before us and he’s made it; he’s there now. His life assures us it can be done, but only through passionate desire for the joy set before us.

When I read yesterday's message from the "Ransomed Heart Ministries" I thought it best to post it all as it's a great message to share!!!

Do you have that deep down longing for more??? More means to me what Jesus promised us as he assended into heaven to be with our Abba Father. A place created just for us where there is no sin, no pain and suffering. Oh how I yearn for this, but I am waiting patiently as I try to change what I know needs changing, and sharing my love for God giving praise to my Father who created me knowing from the very beginning what lies in my HEART!!!

Do go to this site to find awesome messages to read or receive, as I do, in your email daily!!!

Blessings,

The beauty of birth!

I'm sure you thought after reading this title I was going to talk about a new grandchild or something didn't you? Oh it would be wonderful to welcome in to our family a new baby, but I think our children have given us all they intend to...14 is a great many don't you think? As I sat down to look at my blog I was thinking about what had just happened when I went to look at these darling little baby Robins I discovered last week. At the very moment I walked over to where they are nesting my husband decided to start an old Ford truck that doesn 't have a muffler system...Yikes, it was deafening, but worse was that three of the five babies flew out of the nest and tried to go thru the wire fence. One got stuck so I helped it thru while it's parents were hovering above. You'd think they'd have attacked me, but I think they knew I was only helping. The doggy run fence in over 6ft tall so only one bird made it over. It's quite possible this was their maiden flight who knows. I walked away slowly taking the pugs with me (they went up to the bird, but didn't attempt to hurt them) and sat in a chair so I could see what would come next. I could hear the parents making all kinds of noise, and all of a sudden the little one in the run flew up and over and on to a hug tall tree where the other birds were waiting. Momma and pappa joined them. Isn't it wonderful how being parents comes so naturally to animals, but humans sometimes find it difficult. I guess I don't mean in the beginning cuz the motherly instinct usually kicks in ...but a bit later when things begin to happy...well that's another story so we'll just leave this one with the happy ending for the time being. Course there are two more babies still in the nest. Now why didn't I get a photo of the little ones running around the cage??? Course you guessed right...didn't bring the camera with me...DAH!!!!
Have a most blessed Sunday, and remember God loves you all and so do I!!!

We had a little visitor

Yep, it was Sunday...Dewey was sitting in the recliner I was busy doing something and he yelled saying, "Look there's a hummingbird in the house!" Of course I came running (well almost eheh) in time to see that tiny little thing sweep up under the short valance on the bay window. I went towards it, and Dewey told me not to try to get it cuz it would bit me...I know better, so reached up and got it between my fingers with it's head out...It was like a dance in slow motion...I actually didn't stumble or loose my balance when catching it...hehhe! I don't usually have their feeders out this early, but will get them out quickly so they have something till the flowers start blooming. Have several butterfly bushes and lots of other flowers they love getting ready to bloom. Dewey (hubby) said having a bird fly in the house means a death in the family. We know that's not true it's just that the bird wanted to come in and say hi!!!
Just had to share that with you all...God has blessed us with so many wonderful birds and wild animals and living in the woods as we do we have the pleasure in seeing them all the time. I paint birdhouses then we put them on all the posts around the fence in the back..course there are also birdhouses on the front deck, and in trees in the front..it's like a wonderful symphony here in the morning, well all day for that matter...that's something that makes me smile!!!
What makes you smile???? Really I'd love to know, and so would others coming to visit my blog...

By the way I'd love extend a big Thank You to all that have found their way here and have enjoyed what they've read...it makes me smile too!!!!
blessings to all..

What makes your heart skip a beat?

The big question was asked, *what makes your heart skip a beat* There are several things that make mine skip...I think the biggest is when my hubby puts his arms around me and says he loves me. After almost 27 yrs he continues to show his love in so many ways...not flowers, but he gives of himself!! Seeing all the new spring flowers, and how everything looks after a rain when the sun comes out...not to forget a rainbow! My daughter's friend Melinda wrote a book before she passed saying *look for the rainbow for I'll be dancing on it!* Each time my children and their children come to visit...my heart skips and skips..hehehe!! My there are so many things making my heart skip...isn't it just wonderful when it happens?? Brings such joy.. Knowing I have the Comforter in me makes my heart skip too!!!

You all must join in and share *what makes your heart skip a beat?* Writing about all those things will bring back some really fond memories!!!

Blessings.

Thanks Marcela for making another great Party!!!!

God has opened the heavens

I was sitting here thinking about all the rain we've gotten here in VA over the past week...almost everyday we've had down falls that have raised the rivers and streams to overflowing...It's good to have all this rain at this time of year cuz it helps get out water tables up especially for those will wells. Just think about all the good rain brings to not only us, but to the wildlife too. Birds of all kinds even turkeys find a wonderful meal of worms that have worked there way up to the surface of the ground. New tender grass and folage spring up in the woods and fields giving food to the deer. Our perennial gardens spring to life as they get drenched in wonderful rain water. Can't you just see God up there in the Heavens spreading His awesome arms showering all the land with fresh, clean water??? Our rain has stopped for a moment giving us a chance to go out and smell the clean air and listening to all the different birds singing their awesome songs of thanks!!! My hubby and I have been so blessed to have found this little home surrounded by some really tall, old trees...Trees that house so many of my painted birdhouses. To see birds making their nest in them is just awesome...Then there are the ones I've painted that we've put on top over most of the posts holding up our fence.
I just wanted to share why I'm so happy to have the rains falling even if they last for days...God always knows best doesn't He...we don't always know that there's going to be a drout. Think about it!!! I give thanks for all the many blessings my Lord has given to me and my family...even through the tough times, especially through those times...I pray each of you have an awesome week, and don't forget to reach out to someone in need...it brings so much joy to those who do!!!
God Bless,

Yes today was a great day.

This house is a very old house in Georgia, and a very special family lives in it. I have been thinking of what I could find to give to this family that they don't have...oh I could make and give some jewelry (to the wife and daughter) but what could I give to the husband? I was looking thru some old photos of when I last visited their home, and this was amongst them. So, yesterday I started on what I hoped would be a very good likeness of their lovely home. Let's see if this very special person realized it's her home!!!

Blessings to all!

What a beautiful day this is

Even though the sun hasn't been out much today it's still beautiful...sometimes an overcast day allows you to see things you don't when it's bright and sunny! We (hubby and I) walked around the yard looking for any evidence that Spring isn't far away. There has been a sighting in the perennial gardens, but today we pulled back some leaves, and found dozens of daffodils hidding there...they were up outta the ground about 2 inches!! How lovely they will be when they start blooming. Then as we walked I noticed something green over by both wagonwheels at the end of the drive. Yep, more green peeking up at us. That's where my beautiful white Clamatis and some irises grow each year. I thought about taking my camera, but Dewey was anxious to get going so I thought it would be better to get pictures when the sun is out anyway. As we walking around the perimeter of the front yard Dewey decided to go back for the saw...there was a hug tree down so today was the day for it to be cut into firewood for someone hehehhe!! He looked at me, and was about to say something when I said, "why don't we cut slabs off that tree so I can paint on them" funny thing that's what he was about to say!! I got a dozen good specimens 14 to 16 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick. We've treated for bugs, and will now let them dry. I'll sand them then paint something on them, and varnish them....I was thinking they would look great in the flowerbeds as stepping stones..but he seems to think someone might want them for their homes...meaning we could sell them!!!
Back in the house I went to my studio to work on a very special painting...it's for someone very dear to me, and want it to be a nice surprise!! It's more than half finished so I'll be posting it in a day or two.
What are the things you like doing for those in your life who you care so much about?? Do you make them something then give it outta the blue?? I love doing that...or sending something I think that person might like. I've seen the generosity in those I've meet here in blogland, and in all the Ning Networks I belong to. Just think how much it would mean to do something special for someone you don't know. I can tell you that's what really makes me happy...but it's become a bit difficult to do right now with the economy the was it is....We can always give of ourselves tho can't we?? Going to a nursing home to sit with someone in need of company, and perhap read. I loved going and fixing elderly ladies hair when I was younger, but I could still do that. There are numerous things we can get involved with that not only will help someone else, but make you feel good as well....
Please have a blessed week knowing you are truly loved!!!

Hope you are having a blessed day

Today it's sunshine and warmth unlike yesterday which was cloudy and raining. We had some really warm days off and on the past couple weeks, but today promises to be the warmest!! It's going up to 70 plus a reminder what we have to look forward to in about 2 mos...weeeeee!!! I'm definately not a winter person although I do love seeing the snow!!! My husband raked the two perennial gardens the other day getting it ready for those lovely little sprouts to spring up!!! At the end of summer I planted several more perennials so the gardens should be nice and full this year! This is one of Gods wonderful blessings to us don't you think?? He gives us so much beauty to enjoy...the birds singing in the morning, the butterflies flittering around all the sweet smelling flowers, and of course we have many butterfly bushes for them and the hummers. Then there's the new green grass, and oh yes, the trees all putting on their Spring dressings...first the blooms..apple and cherry blossoms are my favorite, and of course the bees love them too. Can't believe I saw my first 2 honey bees just 2 or 3 days ago. My hope is that we have a great harvest of vegetables this year...my sister had her husband make her some raised beds a couple years back that produced more than enough for their family and members of their Church. Now that's what I hope to do this year. Share with neighbors, friends and family because that's doing what our heart tells us to do. God made us to be here for others wouldn't you agree? I feel that's why so many of us find it easy to share what we have...it's just part of who we are. My husband made me 3 raised beds last year, but it didn't produce much because we didn't give them enough nutrition I think...I'm gonna post that beautiful sunflower that grew outta the pile of horse manure last year...it's a remember that God allows growth in all things, and actually expects it. We are putting the beds inside the back fence where they will get better sun, water and more attention from me!! Yes, I admit I didn't tend my garden like I should have...and see what happened, we didn't have a good harvest!!! I hear the whisper of God telling me to give of myself helping those around me even if it's just to listen...perhaps to give a hug, or a few hours of my time!! That doesn't cost a thing but can be so helpful for others. Ok I'm rambling and will stop here, but please know that each of us can do so many things to make life better for those around us...I plan to do more, will you??
love you all, and so does God!! Course you knew that didn't you???

My special day!!

I just had to share this darling little picture one of Dewey's Trooper friends sent today!!! Today, yep it is my 66th Birthday and I've been truly blessed with calls from my dear siblings and my children. Cards are good, but hearing from those you love is so much better don't you think? I woke to my hubby wishing me a Happy Birthday, and the calls started coming in! I beat my twin bro with a call first after all Iam the oldest...by 5 mins. lol!!! It's been a really great day, and I wanted to thank everyone on the net for their well wishes too. Blessings,

Accepting a loss

My heart has been heavy since Mary called to tell me that our niece ended her life that day. I couldn't catch my breath then the tears flowed between us washing up so many memories of times we spent with her. Most of mine are of her as a child. That precious sweet, and unique smile that warmed you from head to toe the minute she saw you. She was quiet, and sensitive, but could belt out a laugh to top them all. She was almost a carbon copy of her mom in looks!
She'd been very troubled for some time, feeling the kind of pain pills couldn't stop. We've wondered over the past few days if there was something we could have done to stop this from happening, and I guess that will always linger! Just knowing she's resting in our Lord's arms, a child of God, feeling only love no pain gives us a sense of peace. Learning to live without her in our lives will be hard, but she will never be forgotten for she remains in all our hearts till we see her again.
Love you dear Dawnie

What an awesome God we serve

Yes, we do serve an awesome God..He has given us the Bible to learn all about HIM and what he wants for HIS children. He wants us to share with those we come into contact with how much He loves them. I know most of you have been blessed with God's love, and all that represents. While doing a journaling page the other day I was writing how and when I pray...before I go to bed, when I awake in the morning, for all things I do throughout the day I'm praising him, giving thanks for things that go right, and even for things that don't for I know there's a lesson in it. I pray for family, friends, those I don't know, for our service men and women, for those who are lost especially...praying you might say is something I do just about all the time!! it's up there with breathing for me..hehehe!!! One thing I've realized tho, all the praying I do is usually for everyone and everything, but for me! Wonder why that is?? hummm... Recently my husband, and I have been challenged to make major changes in our lives. We have prayed for God to lead us where He wants us to be, and we know we are where he wants us to be right now because the stress of trying to keep a business going when all the signs said to close it down. God does close doors when HE knows it's best, but then opens another knowing it's a better way!!! We are praising Him today for showing us we could survive doing things HIS way..eheheh!!! Boy some of us have to be hit over the head to SEE...sigh...So for all those out there who are struggling for reasons known only to you, please continue to pray for God to show you the way! And don't be afraid to ask your family and friends for help either. What are we for if it's not to help those around us!! That's God's way!!

My thoughts and prayers are with those who have shared some of their concerns about this economy and how it's affecting them, and for those who might be feeling stress from it too. (((gentle hugs))) I love you!
