An awesome Spring weekend

Although there is still some snow on the ground from the Blizzard of Feb. we had the most wonderful weekend enjoying not only bright sunny days, but it reached up into the 60s both days. Our weekend ride took us further up in the mountains of WV where I found some wonderful sights to capture with my little camera. I still marvel at the fact that there's nothing more beautiful than nature (what I like to refer to as Eye Candy from God!) So may I share some of what we saw?

My little babies

These are our precious little pugs, Napoleon, Sadie, and Wrinkles. All this snow has really put a damper on their ability to roam free in the back yard...now they have a lone path my dh did with the snow blower! Sadie is the little quiet one until she sees a squirrel...then the hair jumps up on her back, and the barking starts...Wrinkles would pipe in now and then for his thing is a CAR...Now that we've added Napoleon all three of them are barking away when a squirrel appears...Not thinking I put a bird seed block on the back deck and low and behold what did I find out there eating away the past 2 days, yep a squirrel. Most of them stay beyond the fence knowing Sadie will chase them, but this little guy was determined to get his belly full...As I opened the back door for the dogs to go out this morning all three ran out barking their heads off..ehehehe!!! That little guy was already up on the deck eating....as he ran across the high snow piles Napoleon decided he'd take a shortcut....sure, up he went to the top of the snow that is about 5 ft tall...he didn't sink thank God..for could you just see ME trying to get him out??? NOT
So they have really had their exercise today...running up and down the path first after the little guy, then after those remained behind the fence!!!
Isn't it amazing how just little things can bring such joy to our hearts?? I love it!!!
Hope you weren't bored...and I"m not going to proof read it so excuse the mistakes..eehehhe~~~
Look what I woke to yesterday!

I can't tell you how much this awesome sight touched my heart and spirit! As you know we've been surrounded by so much snow, and not much sun...well it was actually Sunday this morning as I headed for the front deck with my first cup of coffee...I don't go anywhere without my camera so when I opened the front door to take a peek at the birds singing while filling their little bellies I was greeted with just a touch of that golden light off in the distance! I turned on my camera, and got the first shot (there were actually 6 in all.ehehe) I breathed in the cool morning air as I sipped my coffee waiting for the sun to rise more thinging to myself, "God you give us so much, things that money can't buy" and I thank you so much for providing for us. Right???

More snow!!

This has been a record snow for Feb in many years..today there is blizzard conditions with snow drifts up to 6 feet...Yikes...I'm staying in where it's warm, and thank God we haven't lost electricity at all...our daughter, Lisa has several times so dh took a oil heater over yesterday incase they loose it again...I pray for all those who've been without for days even a week since the last storm. At least we can put our food in the snow if we lose power. Hubby is still sore and tire from shoveling all the snow off the roof yesterday. Living in an old doublewide there were concerns as to the roofs stability...now at least the blowing winds will help get ride of new fallen snow!!!
Please all those in the path of this storm be safe, don't overdue and stay warm

Oh what a beautiful morning!

This is what I woke to yesterday morning! The birds were flying up into the trees causing the snow to fall every which way making it a joy to watch..they were swooping down for feed we'd put out for them. God brings us much beauty to see doesn't he? The next snow is due around noon tomorrow. Washington DC is supposed to get about a foot, but up here in the mountains North of there we could get far more...We are ready even if we can't get out for days. I pray for all those in the path of this storm that they be safe and ready. Ahhh are you ready for the biggest event yet to come??? I pray also for those who haven't chosen to receive God's awesome gift of life with HIM for all eternity...think about it it could be tomorrow or next week...we all need to be prepared...It's the most important decision in our lives...Blessings!!!

The Secret set within our hearts
The Secret Set within Our Hearts
It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger for them. (George Eliot)
And I still haven’t found what I’m looking for. (U2)
There is a secret set within each of our hearts. It often goes unnoticed, we rarely can put words to it, and yet it guides us throughout the days of our lives. This secret remains hidden for the most part in our deepest selves. It is simply the desire for life as it was meant to be. Isn’t there a life you have been searching for all your days? You may not always be aware of your search, and there are times when you seem to have abandoned looking altogether. But again and again it returns to us, this yearning that cries out for the life we prize. It is elusive, to be sure. It seems to come and go at will. Seasons may pass until it surfaces again. And though it seems to taunt us, and may at times cause us great pain, we know when it returns that it is priceless. For if we could recover this desire, unearth it from beneath all other distractions, and embrace it as our deepest treasure, we would discover the secret of our existence.
Reading from the Ransomed Heart.
I am in awe that it took so long for me to realize just how much I've felt this yearning in my heart...but because I "had" to be in control I continued to think I could make things happen. I pray each day that my Heavenly Father will continue to tear the masks away that have hidden the true me...I'm as if born anew again realising it's only by stopping and LISTENING to my Father's voice can I have true peace. Letting go is hard for some especially me, but I have...it's wonderful to go to HIM knowing he hears my heart. I know God created me for HIM...he loves me so much and has for 60 some years been trying to reach me. He's been doing a good work in me for the past year and I'm so very thankful

What an awesome day!
It's absolutely beautiful today....sunny and 50 degrees...Thank you Lord !!! I walked down our driveway at 6:30 this morning to catch a neighbor and it was 20 degrees...Yes I put a nice warm long coat on, but should have added a hat as well. heheh!! As the sun came up and the birds began their singing I thought I won't need the fireplace today...and I was right...we are having a heat wave..hehehehhe!!! I have the back door open so I can let all that wonderful smelling air in...(not for too long tho) I caught some squirrels digging in the coating of snow that still covers most of the ground. I suspect theres corn still under it. I can just smell the next season coming...do you ever feel that??? I can visualize the new little seedlings popping up from the defrosting ground...and the buds on the trees that have been uncovered for the winter...what a lovely thought for me...for the new warmth of Spring brings warmth to my old bones..hehehhe!!
So I'm sitting here thinking I need to get up and talk a little walk on the deck to get a good dose of Vitamin D...it only takes 15 mins to get your daily requirement!!! Did you know that??? That's what Dr OZ says..hehehe!!! I'm in a very happy joyious mood today. Things can be off in other areas, but feeling the warmth from the Sun makes me think of my heavenly Father...well so many things do, how about you??? What brings the Face Of our Father to your mind?? I think of him most of the day really....I see all his creations around me and I feel his love inside me. It's wonderful to know he's inside me and around me filling me with HIS grace and Love!!!
We are truly blessed aren't we?? Blessings for a wonderful day.
Please remember to give what you can to our Red Cross or wherever you normally give when tragic hits our neighbors. (((hugs)))

A Prayer request
This was sent to me by a dear friend Patti, and I believe Prayer is Power!!!
Prayer request for Gary and Cindy Hogman by way of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Gary is serving in Iraq while his young wife is fighting cancer here. See his Request below.
Bobby S. Briggs, MSgt, USAF823 ESFS/SFOCFlight SergeantBAGHDAD AB, IRAQ
My name is Gary Hogman. Some of you receiving this know me, some do not.My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been diagnosed with stage 4 Cervical cancer. Her chances for survival are very slim. She was pregnant with our s econd child and had miscarried recently at 3 Months; and now we know why.
This is a request for you to forward this e-mail to everyone you know asking for prayer.. The more people that pray for her to be healed, the better. Your prayer can, and perhaps will, save her life. Pray for the HEALING of CINDY HOGMANAnd the removal of all cancer from her body so she may enjoy all that life has to offer, and to continue to be the wonderful mother to our 5-year-old son Michael.
The power of Prayer is unsurpassed. I want the whole world to have her in their prayers the next few weeks. God will hear our cry. Please do not be offended by my plea. This is only a request for your help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and helping with our request for healing! No words can express the power we have when we each do a little to come together.
Regards, Cindy's husband -

A New Beginning
As I prayed to God this morning before reading my Bible I asked God to guide my day, and show me how to touch others with your love, and grace! I prayed for God to be with all those who are sick, sad, abandoned, hurt, needy and most of all for those who are lost. Doesn't it break your hearts to know there are people out there even ones we know, who have heard God's Word, but refuses to accept the gift of salvation???
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour about 34 yrs ago. As a young girl I went to Church with my family, loved the Lord, and thought I was saved, but I continued to do things without first praying and asking for God's guidance. I loved my fellow friends, neighbors, and would help them often, but there was a war raging inside me. Feelings of not being worthy of LOVE...the kind of love that endures a lifetime mading many mistakes that furthered my feeling of not being worthy! You ask what was it that made me finally stop, and really search myself? I was in a marriage with a non-believer so being totally honest with my feelings about God where not allowed. Even going to Church wasn't always allowed...get the picture I was a co-dependent.
During the 10 yrs of marriage I was mentally and physically abused. I was so sad then my daugher, April was born. She was a beautiful baby, and the light of my existance!!! Twenty two months later my daugher, Melissa was born. Many of you know about Missy being born with a very rare muscle disease, and for the longest time I believed God was punishing me for all the bad choices I'd made in my life. She was so very sick, and the team of drs who administered care at Children's first thought she had Cystic Fibrosis, but the muscle biopsy done at NIH showed that she had a genetic disease which was actually the loss of Cross Striations in the muscle fibrils. This means all striated muscles of with the heart is too. There was never a prognosis, ( still none even thought she's learned to deal with so many disadvantages.(She loves the Lord too)
At the age of 1 and 1/2 they didn't give us much hope that she would live very long. Only about 50 cases in the whole USA was thought to have something similar! This is when I turned to the Church...prayer at home just wasn't enough...I needed council, and I needed to be with other Christians. I was saved on a Sunday 34 and 1/2 yrs ago kneeling at the alter. It was the most awesome feeling I'd ever had...I felt completely washed...and brand new...Weeks later I was baptised. I'd changed inside and out, but the marriage I was in didn't. I'd hoped if he saw the LIGHT in me he would want it too... He didn't!
Now having been married for almost 27 yrs to my dh I'm still feeling blessed and working on my personal relationship with God. I know I'll be going to Heaven when Jesus comes again Life has been hard of late, business not producing, but we are believing that if it doesn't change then we must do something else. Many have cared enough to help us and for that I'm so very thankful...we've returned that blessing by helping those living near us. God always shows us the way even tho it's in HIS timing not ours~~~ I think the hardest thing for me was to give up control over what I wanted to do! I finally believed it was not my strength that I do anything. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you (me) will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Phil 1:6 my favorite scripture!!!
I love all of you how have been so faithful in coming and visiting my blog...this one today is totally from my heart to yours!!! Thanks be to God!!!!

Merry Christmas
We share our love with symbols of God's angels
Christ brought a light to us much brighter than this!!!

Our decorations are a tribute to God for the birth of Jesus by a peasant woman called Mary. Just imagine what she must have gone thru when people discovered she was with child, and not married!!! FAITH was what Joseph had for he stood by her, and welcomed THE CHRIST CHILD into the world. Just think about this awesome gift God provided so we could be with HIM in the end...yes He gave us choice in this life....what have you chosen??? If you haven't accepted the free gift of life every lasting do it today....My prayer for everyone is that we remember what this season is truly about....The birth of our Mighty King, Jesus....Blessings to all, and a very Merry Christmas my dear friends~!
(((Hugs))) Bevie

GUIDANCE
I was reading and came across the work G U I D A N C E and it struck a cord with me! I thought gee if you separate the letters they tell a story.
The first letter, G for me stands for GOD U and I is for you and me. Then there is DANCE. If you think about it dancing with someone there's always someone who leads and someone who follows, right? So when U and I follow God's Word and believe in HIM we find ourselves in the most awesome relationship we could ever have. Becoming more like HIM is what we aim for isn't it???
I so love finding words that speak to my heart the way this one did...how awesome is that?
I wish for you a beautiful day one filled with God's word and His awesome grace...if there's a need for prayer please let me know and I'll post it here!!!

Let your life be centered in the Lord!
I find solace in God's word...this scripture brings such joy to my heart!!! Enjoy
life in Him, you can live life to the fullest.
John 15:1-17 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.Abide in Me, and I in you.As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered;and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing;but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My FatherI have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.

Worry

I was sitting here thinking I'm almost out of birdfeed for the birds that have been used to feeding at all the feeders I have hanging from trees in my front yard. You know I used to worry about them not having that food when I run out, but I've finally realized that to be "concerned" is a call to ACTION, not a call to WORRY! Yep, you know before I say it, Christ says to put our FAITH in God so we do what we can knowing full well God will take care of the rest!!! I'm going to continue to share what HE gives to us with those in need because I know that HIS will will be done in the end. I love giving as I'm sure many of you do...I know my sister has a HEART for giving...she knows full well that God wants us to share with those in need...I like to concider it also a RAK...how awesome does giving make us feel? Wonderful. It's amazing how when things get really tight we can still find ways for giving. Sharing a stick of butter or perhaps a package of chicken that's in your freezer can make a dinner for a family with nothing to eat. I believe with all my heart this is one of the most important things we can do for one another!
As you all sit down at your Thanksgiving Dinner take time to remember all those who are struggling and may not have a turkey to eat...if you can...share with a neighbor!!! My dear sister Mary has shared with us this year...times are difficult for many, and I'm very thankful for God's grace and love and gifts of all kinds!
Blessings, and I wish each of you a very Blessed Thanksgiving and safe travel !

An update on Missy
I have been so touched by all your comments and prayers for Missy!!! As we all know Pray is a powerful thing given to us. The pneumonia Missy got just days after her procedure at UVA has taken it's toll....it's been 2 weeks of antibotics each one stronger than the last with nebulizer treatments as well. Today she goes back to Urgent Care, but she tells me she is feeling better..Praise the Lord for keeping her wrapped in HIS arms. So I'm here to thank each and everyone of you who have been so kind as to keep her close in prayer. (((hugs))) I"m so blessed to have such special friends...and to even have some come by that I don't even know...God Bless you all!!!

Some concerns
I have a prayer request for my youngest daughter, Melissa. Let me give you a little history (some already know about her) Missy was born with a very rare genetic muscle disease that they call, Multi-core myopathy since the team of drs who diagnosed her in 1977 didn't name it. Her actually condition is a loss of cross striations in the muscle fibrils. This means the heart as well as all other striated muscles...the early years were spent going back and forth to Children's in DC..spending weeks at a time when pneumonia hit. (that was once a month) in the beginning we realized she also had a condition where the jaw didn't grow, the mouth opening was very very small and her tongue was very thick making nursing impossible, and even taking a bottle too. I used an eyedropper for a time. Since there were only about 50 cases being following in the US that were similar there wasn't much known about it. It's been said to be under the umbrella of MDA...so they followed her for 18 long years. Ok that's about it...no prognosis has every been given because it's so rare. Missy is now 33 yrs old, had a procedure last week at UVA to find out if there was any growths down her throat causing the inability to swollow well. The results of the the scope were good however it didn't go so well with anestheisia. The two drs who took care of her decided not to use the gas they use to keep people under during a procedure, because Missy stands the chance of developing Mylignant Hyperthermia ( a fever so high it would bake the brain) They were very careful not to put her totally under to lessen the chance of her stopping to breath. Well she did so more invasive treatment was used...After it was over they advised us Missy needs to keep her medilert bracelet on and get a necklace as well. So you see if she were ever in an accident and an ENT needed to tube her they could actually kill her in the process...Ok enough of this...they reason I'm telling you all this is that several days after the visit to UVA Missy came down with Pneumonia...she's hasn't been hospitalized although they have do breathing treatments and she's on a good antibiotic, but we need prayer...Knowing full well there have been many miracles in our daughter's life we are praying for another...that she gets thru this illness and is able to get the 2 flu shots. For her with all her problems it would be very dangerous if she got that flu....so my friends please join me and my family in lifting Missy up to God in prayer...knowing full well that He's been with her all her life providing miracle after miracle to keep her alive, and for all that I give HIM all the praise and glory!!! thanks so much and if there's a need amongst you all please add it here so we can hold you up as well...we know there's perfect Power in Prayer!!!
Blessings.
