Accepting a loss

My heart has been heavy since Mary called to tell me that our niece ended her life that day. I couldn't catch my breath then the tears flowed between us washing up so many memories of times we spent with her. Most of mine are of her as a child. That precious sweet, and unique smile that warmed you from head to toe the minute she saw you. She was quiet, and sensitive, but could belt out a laugh to top them all. She was almost a carbon copy of her mom in looks!
She'd been very troubled for some time, feeling the kind of pain pills couldn't stop. We've wondered over the past few days if there was something we could have done to stop this from happening, and I guess that will always linger! Just knowing she's resting in our Lord's arms, a child of God, feeling only love no pain gives us a sense of peace. Learning to live without her in our lives will be hard, but she will never be forgotten for she remains in all our hearts till we see her again.
Love you dear Dawnie

I'm so sorry about your loss. It's so difficult when someone so young leaves too early. I'm trying to prepare for loss right now as friend since grade 1 has just started hospice. Your words have given me some comfort, thank you.

My heart goes out to her entire family and her friends. God will hold her tenderly until you can be with her again. The sweet memories will keep her alive until that day.

God Bless You
With Deepest Sympathy

Bev, I just read of your loss over at Mary's. I'm so very sorry. I know there are no words that can erase the pain or the thoughts of 'what else could we've done to help her'. Praise God she is safe from harm and experiencing total love and peace.
May the peace of His presence envelop you and your family at this most difficult time.
